Welcome! My name is

Bryce Schuebert.

Let's work together.

I am a mechanical engineer with a passion for tackling the next generation of manufacturing challenges

About Me

Hello! I’m Bryce—a mechanical engineer growing in a manufacturing environment

As a full-time second-year undergrad student, I knew of many students' barriers in applying textbook knowledge to practical projects. In response, I helped launch the University of Georgia Student Fabrication Lab, retro-fitting an outdated lab with cutting-edge technology. Utilizing my fabrication experience, I drafted a safety curriculum with interactive projects so novice students could confidently operate complex machinery. Check out the work section below for all of my fabrication lab projects!

Post undergrad, I sought a deeper understanding of the manufacturing design process and joined the MODE2L (Manufacturing Optimization, Design, and Engineering Education Lab) Group as a research assistant. I optimized a master’s class schedule combining the formal design and system engineering process to enhance my ability to create sustainable and inclusive products.

My academic achievement is not limited to my immediate projects. I recently finished Harvard's CS50x, where I learned C and further refined my working knowledge of Python, SQL, and Flask. Beyond that, I enjoy trying new foods with friends, running long distances, and hanging out with my cats, Blue & Nugget.

Here are a few technologies I’ve been working with recently:

  • NX CAD
  • Keyshot
  • Python
  • Ai, Xd, Sp
  • JavaScript (ES6+)
  • React
  • SQLite3
  • Node.js
  • SysML
  • C

Where I’ve Worked

Manufacturing Engineer @ Lockheed Martin Aeronautics

August 2022 -- Present

  • Orchestrated the full tooling lifecycle, including design, development, and implementation, to meet the high-rate production demands of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program
  • Presided over the Priority Tool Review Board, managing the thorough evaluation of both in-house and outsourced priority tools, while monitoring progress and mitigating constraints to align with organizational objectives
  • Implemented remedial measures and refined operational methodologies through Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), contributing to continuous process improvement and saving over 1000 hours in defect repair
  • Utilized Augmented Reality (AR) technology to enhance process verification precision, significantly boosting overall operational efficiency
  • Fostered collaboration with Production, Planning, Quality Engineering, and Industrial Engineering teams to delineate critical assembly sequences, seamlessly integrate changes into production schedules, and substantially reduce costs related to scrap, rework, and repairs across multiple build areas

Here are some of my projects

    3D Printing

With over five years of setting up, managing, and troubleshooting various 3D printer types, I have a deep understanding of 3D printing best practices and use cases.

"Every good product needs a prototype, but not every prototype should be 3D printed."

    • FMD
    • SLA
    • DMP
  • USMA Social Lead

Frustrated with the US’s slow metric implementation, I joined the United States Metric Association and started their Instagram, Twitter, Reddit, and Facebook page to promote the metric system.

    Name Plaque

I wanted to gift my partner, Dominique Roth, a plaque for her desk with her name and occupation. The process required three separate machines to go from a stainless steel sheet to the finished product.

    • Laser cutting
    • Waterjet
    • Metal bending
  • Caterpillar Mini-Excavator Training

Caterpillar gifted the College of Engineering with a 303.5 Mini Excavator, and I created a simple training video to show students how to safely operate the machine.

    3D Scanning

The College of Engineering purchased two 3D scanners, Artec Leo & Spider, for creating complex 3D geometries. After learning the software with practice products, I scanned a whale skull for the College of Ecology.

    • Artec Studio
    • 3D Printing
  • Cotton Bureau

To gain experience with Illustrator, I created minimalistic T-shirt designs and uploaded them to Cotton Bureau. Most of the shirts are geared (no pun intended) towards engineers.
